The HomeStyle Show 2011 was the first event of its kind for the Persian Gulf island and and featured a wide range of home wares; including furniture, household and kitchen appliances, lightings, mirrors and general lifestyle items.

UAE major infrastructure and construction projects

The venture is one that could be extremely lucrative for interiors manufacturers too, according to a recent report. Ventures Middle East, a leading business research and consultancy firm, predicts that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will spend USD 1.2 billion on luxury interior design in 2011.

Its report said that spending was being driven by the sheer number of

in the region, reports Zawya.com.

Consumer spend

Consumers will likely be focused on buying several key products, set to include internal wall cladding, canopy/sky lighting, signage and furniture.

As a whole, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will spend a total of USD 8.6 billion on interiors and fit outs this year; a 69 per cent spending increase on last year. The UAE is the leading country in this spending, with a market share of 54 per cent – followed by Saudi Arabia with 28 per cent.

HomeStyle Show 2011 was held at the ADNEC

The three-day event took place from November 24th – 26th and was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
