7 March 2012 No Comment

The role of building cladding in some of the most innovative and awe-inspiring projects from across the globe will take centre stage in the new edition of Design Magazine, reports Construction Digital.

The quarterly publication, published by the UK’s largest brick manufacturer Ibstock, will demonstrate how alternative forms of cladding have been used in a variety of applications.

In one example, it will look at how a new kind of rainscreen cladding helped to develop a state of the art academic building at the University of West England, Bristol, alongside other inspiring materials.

On Ibstock.com, Andrew Halstead-Smith, marketing manager at Ibstock, commented:

“Ibstock’s Design Magazine is now in its 30th year and as such, has become essential reading for architects and specifiers looking for new ideas and inspiration, as well as technical support and insight into the latest thinking in brick design and technology.”

Mr Halstead-Smith added that “the latest issue is no exception”. It will come packed full of thought-provoking design projects that will “get the creative juices flowing.”

Such topics, which are primarily focused on brick innovation, include the review of a new range of large format clay facade blocks and a special look at the 2011 BDA Brick Awards – the industry’s premier design and construction event.
