Eco-businesses could save money and the planet
Business owners across Norfolk are stressing the importance of running and maintaining a business in an environmentally friendly way, reports eveningnews24.co.uk. This could come in the form of adding solar panels and roof cladding to their HQ, as well as reducing travel to cut costs.
Businesses are “frequently encouraged” to upgrade facilities in particular, to create modern workspace that also reduces their carbon footprint.
Joe Ray, winner of the eco-hero at the Norwich Eco Awards, said: “It’s about changing the mindset of people. For example, if staff appreciate small things, like stock, and the effects of wastage, then that’s going to make a difference.”
Lee Rose, owner of a Norfolk solar company and winner of the eco small business category, is urging companies to make their property more environmentally friendly.
“We’ve been lucky to make a real contribution,” said Rose. “[Eco-business] strives to inspire members of the public to change their lifestyles in a small but positive way.”
It’s not just businesses that are embracing eco-friendly methods – sports stars are too!
Ex-Manchester United defender Gary Neville’s new eco-friendly house has been given the go-ahead by Bolton Council, according to BBC News.
The “futuristic” four-bedroom property is set to be built on greenbelt moorland between Bolton and Bury. The above “spot the difference” image gives some idea of the possible inspiration behind the design!
