Jaguar Land Rover visit

23 October 2010 No Comment

Well where do I start, it was absolutely fantastic! An amazing experience! I was able to drive my favourite car in the whole world a Range Rover, and not in normal driving conditions but at 45 degree angle!

evoquev2It was amazing to see what these cars can do, quite scary at times, I did scream a few times but all in good spirits. You are in very capable hands, the instructors really do know their stuff and all questions were answered.

And as for the tour, out of this world!

The robots were really cute! haha I did ask if they had names! Amazing to see how organised and how all the thousands of parts all come together at that very moment.

A few things learnt as well, each car is built to the clients order, no batch runs of red then black! A logistical nightmare I bet but it works perfectly.

They currently make 300 cars a day but that can be increased to 1500 if needed! All the bumpers are made and sprayed off site but arrive at the conveyor belt the exact time of the car they are build for! Amazing, as if by magic!

Everybody spoke very highly of the day and I personally can’t wait to go back! I was given the name ‘amazing’ at the end of the day, as that’s all I said all day!
