The New Green

7 September 2010 No Comment

Is it a close up of a Seat Ibiza or one of our Confidex Sustain® brochures?

Linden Green

No it’s Colorcoat Prisma® in a new green – Linden Green to be precise.

This vibrant colour has been produced specifically for the SBEC building currently being constructed on our Shotton site, the green colour being chosen to represent the green technological development that will be going on inside.

SBEC building

Linden Green is not a new colour to us though, it was in the original colour range of our Colorcoat HP200® range in 1986, but dropped out of fashion – the market wanted more greys.  Does the return of Linden Green mark the start of a colour revolution?

Flat panels of the 1.2mm thick double sided Colorcoat Prisma® will used to both clad the refurbished building, and to produce the solar collector of a transpired solar collector for the SBEC building, to both provide free heat, and be used to monitor and develop the technology further.

The 20t of Linden Green produced, equivalent to 1700m, was manufactured in total, of which most will be used for the SBEC building.

Additionally the new Colorcoat Prisma® matt colours, namely Terracotta, Anthracite and Copprium, and Silver Metallic were also run as double sided on the 1.2mm gauge to be used for our pre-finished steel rainscreen development – watch this space.
