UKGBC partners with Ecobuild to promote sustainable building
The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) has announced a new long term partnership with Ecobuild – the world’s largest event for sustainable design, the built environment and construction.
The collaboration will now see the two organisations work more closely together to champion the business case for a more sustainable and eco-friendly built environment, prnewswire.co.uk reports.
Placing sustainable construction on the UK and international agenda
Ecobuild hosts key conference sessions, including high profile debates on policy issues in large arenas, paired alongside six seminar zones which will focus more closely on sustainable construction. Ecobuild also actively promotes the work of UKGBC in their work raising awareness of sustainable building projects and the environment.
The chief of UKGBC, Paul King, also has a place on the advisory Ecobuild Advisory Board, and UKGBC will also contribute to the conference programme.
Championing the business case for a more sustainable built environment
Mr King told building.co.uk that they he looks forward to working alongside the organisers and industry to make sure the programme of events and line-up of speakers make 2014 the best Ecobuild conference yet. Mr King said:
“This partnership marks the start of a new and exciting chapter in our close relationship with Ecobuld, an event which has firmly placed sustainable construction on the UK and international agenda over the past ten years.”
